Air Fryer Meatballs with Spicy Red Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (80 g) onion, chopped

  • 1 teaspoon (3 g) garlic, minced

  • 1 lb. (450 g) lean ground beef

  • 1/2 cup (100 g) breadcrumbs

  • 1/4 cup (15 g) fresh cilantro, chopped

  • 1/2 teaspoon (1 g) ground coriander seeds

  • 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 g) salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon (0.5 g) ground black pepper

  • 1 (60 g) whole egg

  • 2 teaspoons (10 ml) Worcestershire sauce

  • Spicy Red Sauce:

  • 2/3 cup (165 g) tomato sauce

  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) beef stock

  • 1 teaspoon (5 g) sugar

  • 1/2 teaspoon (1 g) paprika

  • 1/2 teaspoon (1 g) chili powder

  • salt and pepper

Method

  • 1. Combine all ingredients together in a large bowl. Mix thoroughly.
  • 2. Take about 2 tablespoons of mixture and shape into small balls.
  • 3. Preheat your Air Fryer to 330 F (165 C).
  • 4. Place the meatballs in the Air Fryer basket and cook for 20-25 minutes or until cooked through and golden brown.
  • 5. Meanwhile, combine the tomato sauce, stock, sugar, paprika, and chili powder in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and cook further 5 minutes, stirring ocassionally. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Add the cooked meatballs and stir to coat with sauce.
  • 6. Transfer meatballs into a serving dish and sprinkle with chopped green onion (optional).
  • 7. Enjoy.
